network needs assessment

Configuring network needs assessment using the MQC syntax is an easy way to activate policing for only certain classes of traffic. With class-based policing, class definitions represent application separation, and policing is performed only on the classes configured in the policy map. This generally includes AF and BE classes in which the drop priority is increased on out-of-contract traffic (for instance, re-marking from AF21 to AF22 or AF23) or the traffic is dropped outright

Traffic in classes that are not policed contends for bandwidth availability along with all other traffic on the interface. When no congestion exists, all traffic is transmitted. When congestion is experienced, packets can be dropped out of nonpoliced classes as well as network needs assessment
