PC Inventory SoftwareFor a network containing at least 50 PC's (or more) PC's the LAN administrator should use specialized software able to retrieve all software and hardware details of all PC's connected to the network. In the smaller LAN's it is sometimes possible for the network administrators to have those inventory details in mind, remembering hardware characteristics and software settings installed on each individual computer, but for the larger companies automated PC inventory software is a must. We want to show you Asset Tracker for Networks, an excellent tool that collects all inventory information about the computers connected to your network. When launched, this program automatically scans your network and collects all possible information about each PC being inventoried. After collecting all this information (up to 1MB per PC and more) the software records in in a centralized database allowing theIT administrator to review it at any time. After the initial network scan is finished, the user can re-scan his/her LAN at any time. This will not only make the inventory up-to-date: after the next, updated inventory data was received, Asset Tracker for Networks can compare it to the previous version of inventory details retrieved during the previous inventory session, and record the changes in a separate table. Then, after many re-scans the IT team will have the detailed inventory changes history of each PC in his company. After the inventory data was collected and carefully writen to the database, the user can review it at any time, checking configuration details for each PC in a nice graphical view. Moreover, he/she can generate detailed reports, showing the network inventory data in the different views, e.g. sorting PC's by processor model or by the amount of memory installed.
