Network Discovery

When scanning the network, it is important to remember what devices do support network bandwidth, what workstations do you have in network and how are they configured, etc. Without knowing this your knowledge about the network is poor and often useless no matter what was the actual reason of the network discovery task since these factors heavilly influence the network security, network throughput and almost any other part of the network performance.

Asset Tracker for Networks, our network discovery application, is designed to reveal all possible information about workstations, servers and devices connected to the LAN. For Windows PC's Asset Tracker detects processor speed and model, memory size installed, HDD information, main board, chassis, video- and network cards and so on. For software details, the program reveals operating system name and version, the list of hotfixes and serice pack installed, operating system security settings (Windows Firewall, Automatic Updates) and antivirus protection details. The program also detects the list of applications installed, each software program equipped with program name, version, developer name, installation folder path and for certain popular software from Microsoft and Adobe - even the license keys details.

All inventory details Asset Tracker detects is stored in the database for later use. At any time later the network guy can not only review configuration information for any item inventoried in the past, but also output to printer a consolidated report: Asset Tracker is equipped with over a dozen of reports, plus the network administrators can develop their own by using the Report Builder application included into the program package. Inventory details can also be exported to any external storage, including, but not limited to ODBC data sources, HTML web pages, text files and so on.
